Edwin Peacock is a Republican candidate for Congress (9th District covering the Charlotte area) – and he too is against Amendment One. He’s joining the growing chorus speaking out about the harmful effects of this discriminatory bill…
“I oppose Amendment One and urge voters across North Carolina to vote against it on May 8th for two reasons:
First, it is BAD FOR BUSINESS. With our state currently ranked the 4th highest in the country in unemployment… we’re getting off track from priority # 1…….creating jobs! We are a forward looking State that welcomes ALL businesses & their employees who are willing to make a positive contribution.
Second, Amendment One is NOT NECESSARY. Since 1996, North Carolina has had a law that accomplishes the same objective. Amendment One would be another unnecessary government hurdle that is bad for business.”
